On 4 September, the government submitted proposals to extend the transition support to the months of May, June and July, as the coronavirus pandemic has continued to have a detrimental effect on businesses.<\/p>\n
The purpose of the support is to help companies transform and adapt their operations, as well as to enable them to overcome the ongoing crisis caused by the pandemic. The transformation support entered into force in June 2020.<\/p>\n
The proposal to extend the turnover support for three months has arisen as a result of investigations clarifying that the crisis's damaging effects during March and April have also significantly impacted companies in May. Companies with seasonal operations during the summer have been hit very hard, particularly in June and July. Many companies have also been severely affected by the decision to ban public gatherings and public events with more than 50 people.<\/p>\n
According to the proposal, May is suggested to form an individual support period, and June and July together are suggested to form another individual support period.<\/p>\n
The requirements for being granted support for May 2020 are that the company's turnover has fallen by more than 40 percent<\/strong> compared to May 2019. To be granted support for June and July 2020, more than 50 percent <\/strong>in a turnover loss compared to June and July 2019.<\/p>\n The calculation of the size of the transition support takes place in the same way as before, with 75 percent of the percentage loss in turnover. The 75 percent is calculated on the company's fixed costs for May-July 2020. An eligible company may receive a maximum of 75 million kronor <\/strong>in support of May respectively highest 150 million Swedish kronor <\/strong>for June and July.<\/p>\n It has also been suggested that the application for turnover support should be made to the Swedish Tax Agency by 15 December.
