Towards improved taxation of shipping
The tonnage tax legislation has been in place in Sweden since 2017. At the beginning of the year, the Government's investigator presented their proposal for reformed tax rules for Swedish shipping, including improved tonnage tax rules. Moores' expert on shipping taxation, tax lawyer Johan Larsson, will explain the investigator's proposal at the seminar, how it affects shipping companies and other maritime businesses, and what the final legislation might look like. The seminar will also cover experiences of the existing tonnage tax legislation, how it has been applied, and what opportunities and pitfalls exist.
