Reformed tonnage tax – that's how it became!
The government has now presented its final proposal for improved rules for Swedish tonnage tax. The tonnage tax regulations have existed in Sweden since 2017 and now, after 10 years, it is finally time for a reformed regulatory framework to enter into force. Clear improvements include that special shipping will now be covered by tonnage tax, and that the condition for acceptable traffic will be clarified for shipping companies.
Moores' experts on the taxation of shipping, Johan Larsson and Torgel Gjörde, will explain the government's bill at the seminar, how it affects shipping companies and other maritime businesses, and what the final legislation will look like. Experiences of the existing tonnage tax regime will also be discussed, how it has been applied, and what opportunities and pitfalls exist.
