The government is strengthening and extending the transition support by ten months. With the difference that it the maximum amount companies can receive per month is reduced, from 75 million Swedish kronor to 40 million Swedish kronor.

Starting next week, companies can apply for extended and enhanced transition support for the period August 2020 to April 2021.

– It will be a great relief for businesses affected by the restrictions the government has had to impose to curb the spread of infection, says the finance minister Magdalena Andersson to TT.

The difference is that the maximum amount companies can receive per month is being reduced, from 75 million kronor to 40 million kronor. Something which has been a requirement from the EU.

More restrictions qualify for support
However, the restrictions that can justify the support are increasing. Companies affected by the temporary ban on serving alcohol until April 11 and the limitation of opening hours at serving establishments until June 30 may receive the enhanced support, writes TT.

To be eligible for the support, companies must have experienced a revenue loss of at least 40 percent during the period August to October 2020 or 30 percent of revenue during the remainder of the support period. In addition, a revenue loss corresponding to at least 25 percent of the reference period's revenue must have been caused by certain restrictions.

The formal decision on the extension of support will be made at Thursday's government meeting.
