To support certain commercial tenants in light of COVID-19, the government has decided to allocate five billion Swedish kronor in support for temporarily reduced fixed rents for vulnerable sectors. A landlord who has reached an agreement on a discounted fixed commercial rent for a tenant during the period 1 April up to and including 30 June 2020, can apply to receive state support for up to 50 percent of the discount. The requirement is that the tenant must be operating in a sector covered by the support during the period.
The landlord has the task of applying for the support. The responsible county administrative board will process and make decisions on the support. Boverket is working on developing an e-service for the application, which will be published when it is completed.
